Tootal Courtyard, Greater Manchester

Following the work, we carried out on the basement at the iconic Tootal Buildings, we were appointed by XLB to remodel the external courtyard area between the two Manchester city centre buildings.

Our Approach

The outdoor space is biophilically designed to improve air quality and wellbeing, whilst also helping to reduce water wastage by reusing rainwater gathered from the two buildings to sustainably maintain the green spaces throughout the year.

We also redeveloped the basement of the historic buildings to create brand new wellbeing amenities, including 20 showers and WC facilities as well as a state-of-the-art cycle store, with space for 167 cycles, e-charging points and a repair station. All designed to increase green commuting to and from the city amongst the building’s occupiers.
